Childhood Education and Early Career
Pastor Jamal L. Robinson was born on 4 September 1980. Joy and suffering marked his childhood. Sadly, his mother Leola Stone passed away, but in God’s grace a godly couple, Superintendent Emeritus Robert Lee Robinson and Dr. Barbara Jean Black Robinson adopted Pastor Robinson and his sister, Angelia.
Determined to excel despite his start in life, Pastor Robinson graduated cum laude from Ely High School in 1999. In 2003 he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration / Political Science (also cum laude) from the old “Rattler Hill” – Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida.
After his formal studies, he started a successful career in banking and finance at Household Finance, Wachovia Bank, Chase Bank, Bank of America, and now at Broward Health as a Revenue Cycle Customer Service Training Specialist.
Spiritual Foundation and Ministry
Pastor Robinson was saved and received the Holy Spirit at an early age. From that point, he obeyed the unction to go into a secular career. Yet he knew God would call him to ministry one day, and he knew he would answer that call.
In 2006, at 26, the call finally came. Pastor Robinson was licensed as Minister on September 27, 2009, at Life Deliverance Ministries under Pastor Lorenzo Watkins III.
He attended and graduated from the esteemed Biblical Studies & Ordination Class of Eastern Florida Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, where he excelled with top honors under the tutelage of Bishop Jimmie Williams and Superintendent Chadwick.
In 2010, he returned to Pompano Beach, Florida from Tallahassee to assist his late father, the Superintendent Emeritus Robert Lee Robinson at Thomas Temple Church of God in Christ where his father served for 60 years (13 years as Assistant Pastor and 47 years a Pastor).
He was ordained an Elder on August 27, 2011, by Eastern Florida Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ Inc. under the late Bishop Emeritus Jacob Cohen.
In 2013, he was appointed to the Eastern Florida Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Financial Department by General Board Member & Interim Prelate Bishop Brandon B. Porter.
His diligence and service meant Pastor Robinson was appointed as the Chief Operations Officer for Florida Eastern Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction by Bishop Jimmie L. Williams in 2015, and in 2016 as Convention Coordinator.
On January 22, 2017, Pastor Robinson was honored to be appointed as Assistant Pastor of Thomas Temple Church of God in Christ by Bishop Jimmie L. Williams – the same community his father had served for so many years. In November 2018 he was appointed as a National Adjutant in the Church of God in Christ by Adjutant General Bishop Robert G. Rudolph, Jr.
On August 8, 2020, at the 79th Holy Convocation for Florida Eastern Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. The Lord, and Bishop Jimmie L. Williams finally appointed Elder Jamal L. Robinson as Pastor of Thomas Temple Church of God in Christ.
Pastor Robinson, and his wife and childhood crush, Andrea C. Robinson, look forward to serving and loving the Thomas Temple COGIC community until God takes them home. They have four beautiful children, Jamari, Tyler, Jaylin, and Preston.
